Hello, I'm AntheaI’m a photographer based in Central Otago, capturing honest, relaxed moments for couples and families who value connection over perfection.
My work is all about telling your story as it naturally unfolds. Whether it’s an a laid-back family session with muddy shoes and real laughter, intimate elopement in the mountains, or a romantic engagement shoot—I’m there to document it in a way that feels true to you.
I believe the best photos aren’t overly posed or forced. They happen in between—when you forget the camera is there, when you’re laughing with your kids, holding hands without thinking, or taking in the landscape around you. That’s where the magic lives.
I’m especially drawn to the beauty of the outdoors here in Central Otago—the big skies, rugged textures, and ever-changing light. It’s the perfect backdrop for storytelling, and I love helping people create meaningful experiences in places that feel a little bit wild and a lot unforgettable.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me exploring with my dog, chasing good light, or planning an elopement.
If you’re after photos that feel natural, timeless, and genuinely you—I’d love to be part of your story.

Why are family photoshoots important?
Kids change fast. Families change fast. A professional shoot freezes a moment that will never exist again—the age, the dynamics, the way everyone fits together right now.
Most families have thousands of photos… but:
Mum is usually behind the camera
Dad is half in / half out
No one looks their best at the same time
They stay stuck in the photo abyss, unprinted and unseen
A professional shoot means:
Everyone is included
Everyone looks good
No one is left out of their own story.
It captures connection not just faces
A good photographer captures:
Relationships
Personality
Emotion
The way a child holds your hand, leans into you, laughs with you—that’s what people miss later.
These photos don’t just live on your phone. They become:
Wall art
Albums your kids grow up with
Memories your children will look back on
One day, these images are what your kids will have left of you.

It becomes part of your family legacy
It’s an experience, not just taking a few photos
A good photo session is fun, relaxed and a time to bond. For many families it is one of the few times they are all fully present with each other - no phones, no rushing, nothing else to do but be together.
In your photoshoot with me you:
Will be asked to just be silly together. Candid shots are what we are after
Can wear whatever you like, but to be honest some colour coordination does make for great photos
Can have the option of single or multiple locations
Can have as many people as you like involved. This means uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents etc. The more the merrier
Getting ready
❋
Plan your Look
Choose 2–3 main colours (neutrals + soft tones work best)
Avoid big logos, clashing patterns, or everyone wearing the exact same thing
Think coordinate, not match
Lay all outfits on the bed together—if it looks good there, it’ll look great in photos.
❋
Prep the Kids
Tell them it’s going to be fun, not a chore
Avoid saying “you have to behave for photos”
Schedule around nap times
Bring:
Snacks (non-messy)
Water
A comfort item for little ones
This helps with meltdowns before they start
❋
Keep it Natural
Light, natural makeup (a little more than everyday is perfect)
Clean nails, brushed hair
Clothes ironed and ready the day before
The goal: feel like yourselves on your best day—not overdone.
❋
Arrive Relaxed
Get there 10–15 minutes early
Don’t rush—kids feel that energy instantly
Trust that you don’t need “perfect behaviour”
The magic comes from connection, not perfection.
