It’s an experience, not just a few photos
A good photo session is fun, relaxed and a time to bond. For many families it is one of the few times they are all fully present with each other - no phones, no rushing, nothing else to do but be together.
In your photoshoot with me you:
Will be asked to just be silly together. Candid shots are what we are after
Can wear whatever you like, but to be honest some colour coordination does make for great photos
Can have the option of single or multiple locations
Can have as many people as you like involved. This means uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents etc. The more the merrier
Getting ready
Plan your Look
Choose 2–3 main colours (neutrals + soft tones work best)
Avoid big logos, clashing patterns, or everyone wearing the exact same thing
Think coordinate, not match
Lay all outfits on the bed together—if it looks good there, it’ll look great in photos.
Prep the Kids
Tell them it’s going to be fun, not a chore
Avoid saying “you have to behave for photos”
Schedule around nap times
Bring:
Snacks (non-messy)
Water
A comfort item for little ones
This helps with meltdowns before they start
Keep it Natural
Light, natural makeup (a little more than everyday is perfect)
Clean nails, brushed hair
Clothes ironed and ready the day before
The goal: feel like yourselves on your best day—not overdone.
Arrive Relaxed
Get there 10–15 minutes early
Don’t rush—kids feel that energy instantly
Trust that you don’t need “perfect behaviour”
